Textile and lace exhibitions held in Lille and Calais

Various textile and fashion exhibitions are currently being showcased in French museums. At the Musée de l’Hospice Comtesse in Lille, an exhibition focused on the 18th-century tapestries of Guillaume Werniers and Catherine Ghuys is being presented. This monograph covers a previously lesser-known collection that has undergone extensive restoration and historical research.

In Calais, the Cité de la dentelle et de la mode and the Musée des Beaux-Arts are hosting an exhibition centered on Calais lace. The temporary display features works by creators such as Maurizio Galante and Tal Lancman, showcasing sixty haute couture garments alongside design objects. The exhibition includes striking visual elements, such as a white tiger composed of 2,500 tulle sheets.
