Textile and tapestry exhibitions open in Argentina and Spain

Various textile and tapestry exhibitions are opening in Argentina and Spain. In Argentina, the Contemporary Loom Workshop (Taller de Telar Contemporáneo) has inaugurated an annual exhibition at the Usina Vieja Cultural Center and City Museum. Led by instructor Inés Talón, the showcase features works from beginner to advanced students using the 'Faz de Trama' technique, displaying everything from basic samples to finished items like bags and scarves. The exhibition remains open until October 7.

In Spain, the Real Fábrica de Tapices is collaborating with the Gijón Municipal Foundation of Culture to present an exhibition at the Antiguo Instituto Cultural in Gijón. Scheduled to open on October 8 and run until January 24, 2027, the display will feature approximately one hundred pieces, including tapestries, carpets, and sketches. The exhibition aims to highlight three centuries of Spanish textile heritage and the technical evolution of restoration processes used by the Madrid-based manufacturer.
