TextNow launches Yello! mobile device for children

TextNow has officially introduced Yello!, a mobile device and service designed specifically for children aged 5 to 12. The product aims to bridge the gap between limited toy-like gadgets and unrestricted smartphones by focusing on essential communication tools.

Yello! allows for calling and texting within a parent-approved circle of contacts. It excludes open web browsing, app stores, and social media to minimize distractions and safety risks. Parents can manage contact lists remotely through a dedicated Parent Portal, with updates syncing instantly to the child's device.

In a similar approach to managing digital safety, platforms like JusTalk Kids offer messaging and video call tools for younger users. These services emphasize parental controls, such as restricting communication to trusted acquaintances and using customizable visual tools like filters and backgrounds to make video calls engaging for children.
