Textron Aviation delivers 500th Cessna Citation CJ4

Textron Aviation has reached a milestone with the delivery of its 500th Cessna Citation CJ4. The 500th aircraft, a CJ4 Gen2 model, was delivered to a customer located in the Philippines.

As the company celebrates this delivery, it is also advancing the next iteration of the light business jet, the Citation CJ4 Gen3. The Gen3 model is expected to receive FAA certification by 2026. While the new version maintains the existing airframe and performance characteristics, it will feature significant upgrades to cockpit technology and onboard systems.

Key enhancements for the Gen3 include the Garmin G3000 Prime avionics suite, which utilizes larger touchscreen displays, and the Garmin Emergency Autoland system. This safety feature is designed to automatically navigate, descend, and land the aircraft in the event that a pilot becomes incapacitated. The aircraft is rated for a maximum range of 2,165 nautical miles and can accommodate up to 11 passengers.
