T&G Global to sell New Zealand fresh produce and Pacific export businesses
T&G Global announced the sale of its T&G Fresh operations through three separate transactions. Bidfood Pacific Islands Ltd, a subsidiary of Bidfood, will acquire the company's export businesses in Fiji and the Pacific Islands, with the deal expected to close on 1 September 2026. Pukekawa Holdings Ltd and Ashsadeep Company, current minority shareholders of Unearthed Produce Ltd, will purchase T&G’s 51 % stake in that domestic root‑crop pre‑packing operation, slated to close on 31 July 2026. J&P Turner Ltd, via its wholly‑owned Turners & Growers subsidiary, will acquire the New Zealand fresh‑produce business, pending clearance from the New Zealand Commerce Commission. The sale does not include the Australian blueberry farm and its associated marketing and trading business, which will be retained and folded back into the VentureFruit platform. CEO Gareth Edgecombe said the process was “highly competitive” and delivers optimal value for shareholders. Chair Benedikt Mangold explained that divesting T&G Fresh allows the group to focus on its premium‑apple and VentureFruit platforms, targeting growth in the global premium fresh‑fruit market.
