TG Jones to close 19 UK stores in September

TG Jones is scheduled to close 19 stores across the United Kingdom throughout September as part of a significant corporate restructuring. This move follows a High Court approval in July for a plan that aims to close a total of 150 stores, a process that could lead to the loss of hundreds of jobs.

The retailer, which consists of approximately 450 stores and 4,700 staff, was previously known as WH Smith before being rebranded by its owner, Modella. The September closures include locations in Bath, Cambridge, Swindon, Basildon, and several other towns across the country.

In conjunction with the closures, TG Jones has launched a closing-down sale both in-store and online, offering various items at discounted prices, including some products for as little as £1.
