TG RERA penalizes developers for registration violations and delays

The Telangana Real Estate Regulatory Authority (TG RERA) has issued separate orders against two developers in Hyderabad for regulatory violations and project delays.

TG RERA has restrained DR Estate Construction from marketing or selling units in its Abhi’s Aloha villa project in Pasumamula after finding the project was being sold without mandatory RERA registration. The authority ordered the developer to refund ₹79 lakh to a homebuyer with 10.70% interest and imposed a ₹1.03 crore penalty.

In a separate ruling, TG RERA directed Vasavi Realtor LLP to pay 10.70% annual interest to homebuyers due to delays in handing over possession of flats in the Vasavi Lake City East project at Hafeezpet. The authority noted that over 50 complaints have been filed against the developer regarding this project and ordered the immediate completion of the development.
