TGB criticizes police raid on Hamalatul Qur'an boarding school

Tuan Guru Bajang (TGB) HM Zainul Majdi has criticized the Indonesian National Police for their conduct during a raid at the Hamalatul Qur'an Islamic boarding school in Sukoharjo, Central Java.

In a video posted to his Instagram account, TGB described the deployment of heavily armed personnel into a girls' dormitory housing minors as unprofessional and disproportionate. While he stated he does not oppose law enforcement regarding the underlying criminal case, which reportedly involved the burning of a food stall selling pork products, he emphasized that the investigation should not cause psychological trauma to students. He argued that educational environments housing children deserve protection and that police actions should reflect a commitment to community relations.
