TGNPDCL surpasses 100 MW solar power generation milestone

Telangana Northern Power Distribution Company Limited (TGNPDCL) has surpassed 100 MW of solar power generation capacity through the PM-KUSUM-A scheme. This milestone was achieved across the company’s 18 circles.

Under the PM-KUSUM-A initiative, farmers and cooperatives are empowered to install small-to-medium solar power plants on uncultivated or agricultural land. The surplus energy is fed into the local grid and purchased by distribution companies through long-term Power Purchase Agreements. This model is designed to provide farmers with secondary income while increasing the availability of renewable energy at the local level.

TGNPDCL Chairman and Managing Director Karnati Varun Reddy stated that the company aims to integrate an additional 200 MW of solar power, targeting a total grid integration capacity of 300 MW within the next three to four months.
