TGSRTC night bus services draw 9,000 passengers in first week

The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) reported that its new night bus services, branded as ‘Third Shift’ buses, drew 9,286 passengers during their first seven days of operation in Greater Hyderabad.

Launched on September 1, the services initially cover six major routes, specifically targeting high-traffic areas and the IT corridor to support students, employees, and late-night commuters. Current routes include connections such as Koti–Patancheru, Afzalgunj–Patancheru, Secunderabad–Patancheru, Hayathnagar–Secunderabad, and Bachupally–Waverock.

Following the strong initial response, the government is considering expanding the service to more corridors. Officials stated they will assess passenger demand, traffic patterns, and route feasibility before implementing a potential 24x7 round-the-clock transport system in the city.
