Thae Loiza, former Graneros councilwoman, located in Santiago

Thae Loiza Galaz, a former councilwoman from Graneros, has been located in good physical and mental health in central Santiago. She had been missing since Wednesday, August 5.

The Investigative Police (PDI) found her at the intersection of Huérfanos and Bandera streets. Detectives from the Rancagua Homicide Brigade and the Metropolitan Region Person Location Brigade coordinated the search. Following the discovery, authorities worked with the Public Ministry to take a statement from Loiza to determine the circumstances of her disappearance.

Preliminary findings suggest the disappearance may have been voluntary. As she is an adult and in good health, she was released back to the public after the legal procedures were completed and her family was notified. Records indicate that in August of last year, the former official was formally charged regarding the use of false medical certificates to protect her remuneration.
