Thae Loiza Galaz, former Graneros councilwoman, remains missing

Authorities in Chile are investigating the disappearance of Thae Loiza Galaz, a 32-year-old former municipal councilwoman of Graneros. She was last seen on August 3 or 5, 2026, after leaving her residence in the Ñuñoa commune in the Metropolitan Region.

Loiza, who had recently moved from Graneros to the Metropolitan Region to work at a burger restaurant in La Florida, failed to show up for work, prompting her family to file a missing person report. Investigators from the PDI, Carabineros, and the Public Prosecutor's Office are currently conducting diligences to establish her whereabouts.

Her mother, María Rosa Galaz, noted that Loiza was likely without a mobile phone following a previous robbery and expressed concern that she may have been without money or identification. Security footage reportedly shows Loiza leaving her building and contacting a friend for assistance with her keys before her trail went cold.
