Thai Airways denies boarding to 22 Chinese fans after airport disturbance
On the night of 29 July 2026, a group of Chinese fans pursued a Chinese artist through Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport and entered a restricted lounge. Thai Airways staff called airport security, and the fans continued to follow the artist into the boarding area, refusing to show boarding passes. For safety reasons, the airline closed the aircraft door and, with security assistance, removed the fans from the gate area. Twenty‑two fans were denied boarding on Thai Airways flight TG674 to Beijing; twelve complied with luggage removal, while ten protested and confronted staff.
The airport later issued a public apology, acknowledging that some security personnel had acted inappropriately and placed them under disciplinary action. Suvarnabhumi Airport officials said they would review security procedures and staff training to prevent similar incidents, noting recent fan‑related disputes at Thai venues.
