Thai Airways to resume all flights after labor shortage disruptions

Thai Airways is set to resume all scheduled flights following a two-day operational reduction caused by labor shortages. The airline previously canceled 15 flights on Thursday and nine on Friday to align operations with available staff capacity.

To assist passengers during the recovery of flight schedules, the airline will open ticket offices at its Vibhavadi Rangsit headquarters on October 3 and 4, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The company has apologized for the inconvenience and stated it will review its disruption management to improve future procedures.

In light of these disruptions, which were triggered by staff being unable to reach work due to flooding, calls have been made for the airline to develop a formal emergency contingency plan. Proposals include establishing clear thresholds for operational adjustments—such as determining which tasks to reduce or stop if staffing levels drop below 80, 60, or 50 percent—to ensure core operations remain secure during crises.
