Thai Binh hosts annual conference of Vietnam's Catholic Bishops

Bishops from 27 dioceses across Vietnam have gathered at the Thai Binh Diocese to commence the second annual conference of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of Vietnam (CBCV) for 2026. The conference, scheduled from September 21 to 26, 2026, includes the participation of Cardinals, Archbishops, and Bishops.

Archbishop Joseph Nguyen Nang, President of the CBCV, expressed gratitude to the local communities of Bui Chu, Thai Binh, and Phat Diem for their warm reception. The gathering follows the historical milestone of the Thai Binh Diocese, which marks 90 years of development since its establishment by Pope Pius XI in 1936.

The diocese, which originally included the provinces of Thai Binh and Hung Yen, holds significant religious heritage as the home of 19 of the 117 Vietnamese martyrs.
