Thai daughter arrested for killing mother-in-law in Phuket

Police in Phuket, Thailand, arrested a 36‑year‑old woman identified as Sri after she allegedly used a kitchen knife to stab her 74‑year‑old mother‑in‑law, Chantra, to death during a domestic dispute on 1 August. The victim was found with extensive blood loss inside the home in the Chalong district. Sri was discovered in a bathroom after neighbors restrained her and handed her over to officers. Investigators noted that Sri has a history of mental‑health treatment dating back to 2016, which may have contributed to the incident. The husband, Chantra’s son, was away at work at the time and reported the crime to police. Chantra’s body was taken to Vachira Phuket Hospital for an autopsy.
