Anutin Charnvirakul denies fake 7 million baht transfer claims

Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has addressed viral misinformation regarding a fake bank transfer slip claiming he received 7 million baht in “tea money.” Kasikornbank (KBank) issued an official statement confirming that the account number shown in the image does not exist in their system. Furthermore, the bank noted that the K PLUS application has a maximum daily transfer limit of 5 million baht, making the 7 million baht transaction shown on the slip technically impossible.

Anutin clarified that the account number in the fraudulent slip does not match his own and stated that his actual bank balance is only in the tens of thousands of baht. He noted that his financial records previously submitted to the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) show no such transaction.

Government spokespeople warned that politicians who shared the unverified information for political attacks could face criminal and ethical accountability. Authorities have identified a 26-year-old individual as the administrator behind the initial post.
