Thai Life Insurance Association forecasts 2.5‑3.5% premium growth; Krung Thai Bank wins three Asia sustainability awards

The Thai Life Insurance Association projects total life‑insurance premiums to grow 2.5‑3.5% in the second half of 2026, with full‑year premiums expected around 693‑700 billion baht. Growth is driven by Thailand’s aging population, rising health awareness, higher medical costs, digital and AI adoption, and supportive government policies. In the first half of 2026, total premiums rose 4.57% to 341.5 billion baht, with renewal premiums up 6.94% and new‑business premiums down 1.22%; policy persistency stood at 84%.

Krung Thai Bank received three Asia Responsible Enterprise Awards (AREA 2026) for Investment in People, Social Empowerment, and Health Promotion. The awards recognize its Krungthai People Well‑being Initiative, financial‑literacy programs for vulnerable communities, and the Krungthai Healthcare Ecosystem that links health benefits to a digital wallet, enhancing access to medical services and supporting public‑health providers.
