Thai Navy frigate HTMS Naresuan visits Ho Chi Minh City
The Royal Thai Navy frigate HTMS Naresuan (FFG-421) arrived at Nha Rong International Port in Ho Chi Minh City on August 25 for a friendly diplomatic visit. The vessel, equipped with modern information systems for maritime combat and training, is part of a delegation led by Rear Admiral Borworn Promkaewngam, Director of the Royal Thai Naval Academy.
During the visit, Ho Chi Minh City Vice Chairman Tran Van Bay met with the Thai naval delegation and Thai Consul General Wiraka Mooddhitaporn. Discussions focused on deepening cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and Thai localities in sectors such as trade, investment, technology, innovation, and urban development.
Additionally, officials expressed interest in practical cooperation regarding drug prevention, involving the naval and armed forces of both nations, as Ho Chi Minh City works toward its goal of becoming a drug-free city by 2030.
