Thai Nguyen officials set deadlines for urgent flood prevention works

Nguyen The Manh, the new Chairman of the Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee, has set deadlines for the completion of several urgent flood prevention and control projects. Following a recent inspection, the Chairman emphasized the need to resolve bottlenecks, particularly regarding land clearance and resettlement, which have delayed progress.

Key projects under review include the Huu Cau dike system, which involves a 16.462 km dike combined with a transport route, dredging, and the construction of six resettlement areas. Additionally, the Gia Bay bridge project is underway, with technical completion expected by December 2026 and full completion in the first quarter of 2027. While some emergency flood prevention works on Hoang Van Thu Street are proceeding according to plan, other segments face delays due to site clearance issues.
