Thai Packaging Industry targets Smart Factory status and zero defects
Thai Packaging Industry Public Company Limited (TIPAK) has announced a strategic move toward becoming a Smart Factory to achieve a ‘Zero Defect’ goal. The company plans to invest 100 million baht by 2027 to upgrade its Samut Sakhon and Prachinburi facilities.
The investment focuses on three key areas: upgrading automated production lines to reduce waste, implementing digital and intelligent systems such as SCADA and predictive maintenance, and deploying advanced quality control systems. TIPAK aims to reduce unit production costs by 1–3% by 2027 compared to 2026 levels.
Additionally, the company is pursuing a product mix strategy to increase the proportion of high-value corrugated packaging. This includes developing innovative products with specialized features such as moisture protection, antimicrobial coatings, and coatings designed to extend the shelf life of fruits and vegetables to meet e-commerce and eco-friendly trends.
