Thai police arrest two international fugitives in Kanchanaburi

Thai immigration police have arrested two foreign nationals wanted for fraud in their respective home countries.

In Kanchanaburi province, authorities detained a 33-year-old Chinese national identified as Sun Wen. Sun was wanted via an Interpol Red Notice for a massive real estate fraud scheme in China involving forged documents and property mortgages, with estimated losses exceeding 200 million baht. Investigations revealed he had overstayed his Thai visa by 578 days. His arrest followed a report of a disturbance at a local hotel.

Additionally, police apprehended a 58-year-old South Korean man, a former football coach, who had been a fugitive for approximately 20 years. He was wanted by the Seoul Northern District Court for allegedly defrauding six individuals by promising them placements in South Korean football clubs. Authorities are investigating whether he also attempted to deceive football clubs within Thailand.
