Thai Police Committee summons officials over DSI document leak
The Thai House of Representatives Police Committee has summoned People's Party MP Parit Wacharasindhu and iLaw Director Yingcheep Atchanon to clarify the public disclosure of Department of Special Investigation (DSI) documents.
The documents in question involve investigation reports related to Special Case 24/2568, concerning allegations of organized crime and Senate election fraud. The DSI recently filed a complaint with the Crime Suppression Division, stating that the unauthorized release of these documents hinders official operations.
Wacharapong Kuwichitsuwann, Chairman of the Police Committee, denied that the summons is a political tactic to suppress information. He stated that the committee's objective is to investigate how the leak occurred to maintain the DSI's credibility and ensure the integrity of the ongoing investigation.
