Thai police rescue three Chinese women from villa in Chon Buri
Thai authorities conducted a raid on a two-story villa near Pattaya in Chon Buri province following a distress call sent via WeChat. A Chinese woman had secretly messaged relatives, warning them of her confinement and requesting a large police presence while advising them not to reply to her phone to avoid danger.
During the operation, which involved over 20 officers, police apprehended four Chinese men. Three Chinese women were rescued from the premises; they reported being lured to the residence under the pretense of entertainment work before being held against their will. The victims alleged they were subjected to sexual assault and that ransom demands had been made to their families.
Investigators recovered several items from the scene, including a chain believed to have been used to restrain the victims, drug paraphernalia related to methamphetamine and ketamine, and various other items. The four men detained are suspected of entering Thailand illegally via natural borders and were found without passports.
