Anutin attends 2027 budget debates before Norway trip

Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul attended the House of Representatives to participate in the second and third readings of the 2027 fiscal year budget bill. Before his departure to Norway to serve as a royal representative at the funeral rites for the King of Norway, Anutin emphasized that Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Ekniti Nitithanprapas would be present in Parliament to clarify technical details and address inquiries from MPs.

In a Cabinet meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Pipat Ratchakitprakarn, several administrative matters were discussed, including the potential appointment of Dr. Ekkapop Pianpiset as the new government spokesperson. The meeting also addressed various ministerial updates and infrastructure projects, such as logistics services at Suvarnabhumi Airport and cooperation with Laos on bridge construction.

Political tensions remain high as the one-year anniversary of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the Bhumjaithai Party and the People's Party is marked. Anutin criticized the People's Party for failing to uphold the agreement, while People's Party MP Parit Wacharasindhu acknowledged past political mistakes and expressed a commitment to addressing their consequences through future parliamentary duties.
