Nanny Irin, a resident of Thailand, discovered that the cash she kept in a safe‑deposit box had been largely chewed away by termites. The woman, who saves the money to pay monthly mortgage installments, posted photos on Facebook showing shredded banknotes and insect damage inside the box. She said the box appeared normal when last opened less than a month earlier and expressed disappointment that the damage could not be prevented.
