Thailand accelerates water drainage in Pathum Thani's Khlong Rangsit
Thailand's Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Suriya Juangroongruangkit, has ordered the Royal Irrigation Department to accelerate water drainage in the Khlong Rangsit Prayurasak area of Pathum Thani province to mitigate potential impacts on residents.
Royal Irrigation Department Director-General Witthaya Kaewmee inspected water management operations at the Rangsit semi-permanent pumping station. The strategy involves using the irrigation network to move water from upper and central areas toward downstream locations and eventually into the Gulf of Thailand.
Key mechanisms in this operation include the Khlong Lat Pho sluice gate, which facilitates drainage from the Chao Phraya River to the sea, as well as coastal pumping stations such as Suvarnabhumi, Chonlaharn Phichit, and Charoen Rat to maximize drainage efficiency.
