Thailand advises public motorcycle riders to use private inspection centers
The Thai government is advising public motorcycle operators, including both traditional motorcycle taxis and app-based riders, to utilize private vehicle inspection centers (Tor Or Or) to reduce congestion at Department of Land Transport offices.
Deputy Government Spokesperson Ploytalay Lakmisaengchan stated that riders can undergo vehicle inspections up to one month before their annual tax due date. This policy also applies to public motorcycles with tax arrears between one and three years. Once inspection is complete, owners must present the inspection results and compulsory motor insurance (Por Ror Bor) to the relevant provincial or Bangkok land transport offices to finalize tax payments.
To ensure safety and legality, the government emphasizes that all private inspection centers must be certified by the Department of Land Transport. Citizens can locate nearby certified centers within a 30-kilometer radius via the ‘Inspection-Map’ LINE Official Account.
