Thailand allocates 2,000 million baht to support farmers against El Niño
Supajee Suthamphan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce, has announced a 2,000 million baht framework for the Farmer Assistance Policy and Measures Committee (Kachok) for the 2027 fiscal year. The fund aims to stabilize prices and protect farmer income against climate volatility, specifically the risks posed by El Niño.
The budget will support six key measures focusing on marketing to maintain price stability and production to improve product quality. The scope covers various sectors, including field crops, oil crops, fruits, livestock, fisheries, and essential goods. The government intends to use these tools to provide rapid assistance and proactive management of agricultural products to ensure farmers benefit directly from the support.
