Thailand and Australia emerge as top travel destinations for Gen Z and Millennials

A study by travel specialist Adventure360, which analyzed over 4,700 bookings from the past year, reveals distinct travel preferences between Generation Z and Millennials. The research suggests these differences are driven by budget considerations and social media influence.

Thailand is the most popular destination for Gen Z, accounting for 29.2% of their bookings. For Millennials, Thailand ranks second at 17.4%, narrowly trailing Australia, which holds the top spot for that demographic at 17.8%.

Gen Z travelers show a preference for destinations like Cambodia, Laos, and New Zealand, all of which appear in their top 10 but are absent from the Millennial rankings. Conversely, Millennials favor Japan, Greece, and Iceland, destinations that do not rank highly for Gen Z. Experts note that social media trends, such as viral videos of Angkor Wat in Cambodia, play a significant role in shaping Gen Z's travel choices.
