Thailand’s Thai Chuay Thai Plus spending exceeds 161 billion baht
The Thai government has reported that the ‘Thai Chuay Thai Plus’ (60/40) economic stimulus program has reached a cumulative spending total of 161.55 billion baht as of September 18, 2026. The program has benefited over 26 million citizens and supported approximately 1.19 million verified shops.
The total spending consists of 92.9 billion baht in government co-payments and 68.65 billion baht from citizen contributions. Most transactions occurred through traditional retail stores, with a smaller portion processed via food delivery services. The initiative aims to bolster purchasing power and support small businesses amidst rising energy costs and living expenses.
Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has expressed in-principle approval for the second phase of the program. The Ministry of Finance is expected to present the operational results and details regarding the extension of the project to the Cabinet for consideration on September 22, 2026.
