Thailand Board of Investment celebrates 60 years with record foreign inflows

The Thailand Board of Investment (BOI), established in 1966, marked its 60th anniversary in August 2026. The agency highlighted its new strategic theme – “Shaping Thailand’s Future Through Strategic Investment” – which emphasizes high‑value production, innovation, sustainability and deeper regional integration.

BOI officials noted that the policy shift is already bearing fruit. In 2025, the board recorded investment applications totalling US$60.23 billion across 3,370 projects, a 67 % rise in value and an 11 % increase in project count compared with the previous year. The surge reflects growing confidence among multinational firms such as Toyota, Minebea, Delta Electronics, Cargill, Western Digital, Seagate, Microchip and ADI, which have long operated in Thailand under the BOI’s support. The momentum is expected to continue into 2026 as the BOI seeks to position Thailand as a regional hub for technology‑driven industries.
