Thailand Cabinet to discuss fuel tax cuts and solar energy projects
The Thai Cabinet, chaired by Anutin Charnvirakul, is set to consider several key economic and energy proposals. The Ministry of Finance has submitted a draft ministerial regulation to reduce excise taxes on gasoline (including E20) and diesel (including B20) to maintain stable retail fuel prices and promote the transition to biofuels.
Additionally, the Ministry of Interior is proposing a “People’s Solar” project alongside initiatives to upgrade energy infrastructure and smart electrical systems. The meeting will also include a summary report on the progress of the Land Bridge project, which aims to connect the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea.
Other agenda items include reports on domestic violence trends, updates from the Defence Technology Institute, and discussions regarding the appointment of honorary consuls in Canada and Malta.
