Thailand coach Anthony Hudson receives contract extension

The Football Association of Thailand (FAT) has announced a contract extension for head coach Anthony Hudson, securing his position until February 2028. The decision comes ahead of Thailand's critical FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 match against Vietnam on September 29.

Hudson, who was appointed in November 2025, previously had a contract set to expire in February 2027. The extension follows Thailand's 4-0 victory over Pakistan in their opening Group B match. Despite recent criticism from fans regarding the team's playing style and a previous loss to Vietnam in late August, the FAT has moved to provide stability for the manager.

Thailand currently leads Group B following their win, while Vietnam also holds three points after a 1-0 victory over the Philippines. The upcoming match between the two sides is considered a decisive encounter for the tournament, as only the top two teams in the group will advance to the final.
