Paradon Prisnananthakul addresses flood relief and no-confidence debate

Minister Paradon Prisnananthakul has addressed two major domestic issues: the upcoming no-confidence debate and flood relief funding. Regarding the debate, the government has proposed a ‘3+1’ schedule, consisting of three days of debate from October 27–29 and a vote on October 30. This timeline is intended to accommodate the Prime Minister’s upcoming international commitments, including an APEC summit. Paradon noted that the government is not avoiding scrutiny but is managing a tight schedule.

On the issue of flood relief, the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) has proposed a 10.5 billion baht budget from the 2027 central fund to assist remaining flood victims. Paradon stated that while the 2026 central budget for relief has been exhausted, the government remains committed to equitable compensation. He highlighted that while relief efforts in provinces have been efficient due to strong local leadership, Bangkok has faced bottlenecks in the verification process. He emphasized that any fraudulent claims or improper identity usage during the registration process will result in legal consequences for those involved.
