Thailand court sentences ‘Am Cyanide’ to death for 2022 murder
A Thai court has sentenced Sararat Rangsiwuthaporn, widely known as ‘Am Cyanide’, to death for the 2022 murder of Chantarat Wongkraisin. The Criminal Court determined that Rangsiwuthaporn used cyanide to kill Wongkraisin during a meeting at a Phetchaburi gas station, under the guise of providing medicine for COVID-19 symptoms.
Evidence used in the case included telephone records and money transfer slips. Rangsiwuthaporn faces additional allegations involving 14 murders and one attempted murder, with many victims reportedly killed via cyanide poisoning. Her legal counsel has stated that the verdict will be appealed to a higher court.
