Thailand Deputy Interior Minister clarifies Ban Sang District Chief transfer

Deputy Interior Minister Polpee Suwannachavee has addressed the transfer of the Ban Sang District Chief in Prachin Buri, stating the decision was based on official reports rather than political motives. The transfer follows complaints regarding the management of flood relief efforts in the area.

Polpee noted that the acting governor, the former governor, and local leaders all provided consistent reports regarding the district chief's performance. While acknowledging the official's proficiency in social media, the Minister emphasized that on-the-ground operations and policy implementation did not match the online image.

To ensure effective flood management, the government has coordinated the deployment of water pumps, medical supplies, and flat-bottom boats to the region. The Ministry intends to have a deputy district chief oversee the area to better serve residents during the ongoing flooding.
