Thailand emerges as ASEAN investment gateway amid supply chain shifts
A report by PwC Thailand identifies supply chain diversification, AI adoption, and the energy transition as primary drivers of new investment opportunities within the country. These shifts are attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) toward Thailand’s digital infrastructure, electronics, automotive, and food-processing sectors as global companies seek greater supply chain resilience.
Data from the Bank of Thailand shows that gross FDI inflows reached USD 86 billion in 2025, with China, Singapore, and the EU serving as leading investment sources. The report highlights Thailand’s role as a strategic gateway to the broader ASEAN region, leveraging its domestic market of 71.7 million people, established automotive ecosystem, and strong logistics connectivity.
