Thailand exports projected to grow 17.8% by 2026
Thailand's exports are projected to grow by 17.8% in 2026, reaching an estimated $400 billion. This growth is expected to be driven by strong demand for electronic products and technologies related to artificial intelligence.
According to forecasts from the Trade Strategy Institute of the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, export shipments are expected to continue rising in 2027, reaching approximately $430 billion, a 7.4% increase. Experts identify demand from the United States market and the expansion of global AI computing power—specifically for semiconductors, servers, and electronic components—as the primary engines for this growth.
Beyond electronics, Thailand is positioning itself to benefit from global investments in AI and data centers, leveraging its infrastructure, regulatory frameworks, and supply chains. Macroeconomic forecasts suggest Thailand's GDP could grow between 2.2% and 2.5% in 2026, with a potential increase to 3% in 2027. The tourism sector is also expected to see steady recovery, with international arrivals projected at 31.5 to 32 million people in 2026.
