Thailand faces potential exclusion from Miss Universe 2026

The Miss Universe Organization (MUO) is currently evaluating the participation of Thailand in the 2026 Miss Universe pageant. This review stems from administrative and institutional tensions between the global organization and Nawat Itsaragrisil, the director of the Thai franchise and president of Miss Grand International.

The conflict involves allegations of intimidation, legal disputes involving current queen Fátima Bosch, and the alleged illegal use of social media. As a result, the eligibility of the recently crowned Miss Universe Thailand 2026, Tharina Botes, remains uncertain.

A final decision regarding Thailand's license is expected before the contestants begin gathering in Puerto Rico this November. The MUO has requested that the public and national directors avoid speculation until an official determination is released via their authorized website.
