Thailand football team prepares for ASEAN Cup clash with Laos
Thailand’s senior men’s football squad, led by head coach Anthony Haddson, held a press conference on 24 July 2026 at the Hilton Vientiane in Laos ahead of their opening group‑stage match in the 2026 ASEAN Cup. Haddson stressed the team’s need to start strong, highlighted the talent of young players such as midfielder Sek Satr, and pledged to let the players showcase their best form without added pressure.
The squad arrived in Vientiane on 23 July and spent an hour training at the National Stadium Primary 16, focusing on recovery after travel. Forward Yodskorn Burapha said the conditions were similar to Thailand and the team felt “well‑prepared”, while defender Natthapong Saiya noted an 80‑90 % readiness level and encouraged fans to support them at the 20:00 match on 25 July. Both officials and players expressed confidence that Thailand can secure a win over host nation Laos in the tournament’s first group‑B fixture.
