Thailand government secures over 7.15 trillion baht for digital infrastructure projects

The Thai government, led by Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, is accelerating investment in digital infrastructure. 34 data‑center and data‑hosting projects have been approved by the Board of Investment, totaling 715.295 billion baht (more than 7.15 trillion baht). Of these, 27 projects worth 618.418 billion baht were approved in 2025 and an additional 7 projects worth 96.877 billion baht were approved between January and March 2026.

The government is also promoting the Thailand FastPass scheme, which has fast‑tracked 25 projects across various industries, representing an investment of 223.216 billion baht. The initiatives aim to strengthen the country’s digital economy, including AI, cloud computing, cybersecurity and related services. BOI conditions require promoted projects to train Thai staff, with at least 50 % of senior positions filled by Thai nationals within three years, and to link foreign investors with local companies and procurement.

These measures are positioned as part of a broader effort to boost Thailand’s competitiveness, develop a skilled workforce and ensure that foreign investment delivers lasting benefits for the national economy.
