Thailand high-speed rail project to follow existing contracts

Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, stated that the high-speed rail project connecting three airports will proceed according to its original contract. During a meeting of the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) Policy Committee, he emphasized that all procurement and operations must strictly adhere to the Public Procurement and Supplies Administration Act and the Constitution.

Regarding the ongoing legal disputes between the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) and private contractors, Anutin urged both parties to seek a resolution through negotiation. He noted that if a consensus cannot be reached, the parties must rely on the judicial process to resolve the conflict. He clarified that the project's format remains unchanged and continues to be governed by the existing binding agreements between the employer and the contractor.
