Thailand hosts diverse cultural festivals in October 2026

Thailand will host various cultural and spiritual events throughout October 2026. A major highlight is the Phuket Vegetarian Festival, also known as the Nine Emperor Gods Festival or Gin Jay. Running from October 10 to October 18, the festival features traditional ceremonies, street processions, and religious purification activities within the Phuket Chinese-Thai community. Key events include the raising of lantern poles on October 9, daily morning processions starting October 11, and fire-walking rituals scheduled between October 14 and 17.

Other notable regional activities include the American Fair held in Nakhon Ratchasima, Chiang Mai, and Bangkok; the 15th Ubon Book Fair in Ubon Ratchathani; and the Bun Sart Duean Sip festival in Nakhon Si Thammarat. Additionally, the Vijit Roi-Et Illumination festival will feature light installations at Bueng Phlan Chai from October 9 to 18.
