Thailand hosts Gastech 2026, securing $20 billion in business deals

Thailand's Energy Minister, Eknat Promphan, highlighted the success of hosting the Gastech 2026 conference in Bangkok from July 14–17, 2026. The event facilitated business deals totaling at least $20 billion.

Beyond energy trading, the minister emphasized that the conference served as a platform to showcase Thailand's investment potential and quality of life to global decision-makers. The event brought together ministers and executives from various regions, including the United States, Russia, Singapore, and Africa, as well as representatives from the International Energy Agency (IEA) and the International Energy Forum (IEF).

Promphan noted that hosting the event locally allowed Thailand to communicate its energy vision directly to global leaders. The presence of numerous suppliers and partners in one location provides Thailand with more negotiation leverage, particularly regarding long-term energy contracts aimed at reducing reliance on expensive spot market prices.
