Gastech 2026 energy forum opens in Bangkok

The Gastech 2026 Global Energy Forum has commenced at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC) in Thailand. The event brings together approximately 50,000 participants and representatives from over 150 countries to discuss energy market stability, security, and the transition to cleaner technologies including LNG, hydrogen, and AI-driven energy solutions.

Major industry players are utilizing the forum to highlight regional energy strategies. Thailand's PTT is positioning the country as an ASEAN LNG demand hub, leveraging existing terminal capacities in the Eastern Economic Corridor. Gulf Energy Development is participating as a National Consortium Partner, focusing on integrating energy security with digital infrastructure and data centers.

International participation includes Pakistan, represented by the United Gas Development Company (UGDC), marking the country's return to the forum after 54 years. UGDC aims to attract foreign investment to deregulate Pakistan's gas industry and lower consumer costs. Additionally, Tanzania's Deputy Minister of Energy, Salome Makamba, is attending to promote investment opportunities in the nation's natural gas resources.
