Thailand House to debate 3.788 trillion baht 2027 budget

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Sophon Saram, has scheduled parliamentary sessions for September 7–9, 2026, to consider the second and third readings of the Fiscal Year 2027 Budget Bill. The proposed budget stands at 3.788 trillion baht.

Following reviews by the special committee, total budget reductions amount to approximately 11.162 billion baht. These cuts include 10.891 billion baht reallocated to government agencies as deemed necessary by the Cabinet, and 271 million baht allocated to the Parliament, courts, independent constitutional organizations, and the prosecution office.

Significant reductions were noted in the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (3.278 billion baht), the Ministry of Defense (1.228 billion baht), and the Ministry of Interior (912 million baht). Conversely, the central budget will see an increase of 6.044 billion baht, and revolving funds will increase by 4.5 billion baht.
