Thailand mobilizes relief efforts amid widespread flooding

Thailand is responding to widespread flooding across several provinces, including Bangkok, Samut Prakan, Chanthaburi, Sa Kaeo, and Ayutthaya. Government agencies and private sectors have mobilized relief efforts to assist affected citizens.

Suriyas Jungrungreangkit, Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, has ordered the deployment of personnel, machinery, and food supplies. The Ministry is setting up service points to distribute ready-to-eat meals and providing free parking areas to facilitate movement. The Royal Irrigation Department is also coordinating with water resource and disaster prevention agencies to manage water levels.

Bangchak Corporation has contributed by providing drinking water, dry food, and fuel to volunteer teams and emergency services. The company has also opened its service stations for public parking and is sharing information regarding water levels and traffic routes.

In response to reports of eight deaths in Sa Kaeo and Chanthaburi provinces, the Ministry of Labour has directed the Social Security Office to expedite the verification of benefits for deceased insured persons and their families. This includes assessing eligibility for funeral grants and other statutory compensations.
