Thailand launches ‘Jaeng Rat’ service on Tang Rat app for online crime reporting

The Thai government has introduced the ‘Jaeng Rat’ (Report to State) service within the ‘Tang Rat’ application to provide a centralized channel for citizens to report online problems and cyber threats. The initiative aims to simplify the reporting process, allowing users to report issues such as investment scams, data theft, and fake social media accounts without needing to identify the specific responsible agency beforehand.

Rather than merging all agency systems into one, the service acts as a ‘central connection point’ that routes reports to the appropriate authorities. Currently, the service is linked with the National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA) for cyber threats, the Electronic Transactions Development Agency (ETDA) for online trading and illegal platform issues, and the Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB) for tracking existing online crime reports.

The ‘Tang Rat’ application has reached a cumulative total of 49,545,109 downloads.
