Thailand launches One Platform for Skill Development digital training
Thailand's Minister of Labour, Julapun Amornvivat, has launched the ‘One Platform for Skill Development,’ a digital initiative designed to enhance the skills of the national workforce. The platform is a collaborative effort between the Department of Skill Development and a network of private sector partners to address the rapid changes in the global job market caused by digital technology, automation, and artificial intelligence.
The platform currently features 967 online courses provided by 41 participating private entities. These courses cover diverse topics, including advanced sales techniques, professional customer service, and sales strategies using Generative AI. By moving training to a digital format, the government aims to reduce time and location constraints, allowing workers, citizens, and businesses to access training more conveniently.
To encourage participation, private companies offering courses on the platform will receive benefits such as tax incentives and contributions reductions to the skill development fund. Additionally, the Ministry of Labour is preparing to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Sri Lanka on September 14 to facilitate labor cooperation.
